They don't give a damn, so why should you? The best argument is that it is a "Catch and Release" program for crazy people. Here's what I wrote about it on FB...<br /><br />"Extreme Risk Protection Orders" are a half measure at best. They show the complete cynicism of the anti-gun Left. In any real mental health system, if a judge ruled that a person was "a danger to himself or others," that person would be sent immediately to a mental health ward where he could be evaluated and treated. Instead, the Dems think it's appropriate to sieze their guns and toss them, untreated, right back on to the street. Once there, these people, who are still a danger to themselves or others, can get another gun, or some gasoline, or all the chemicals sold at Walmart, and go create havoc.<br /><br />It's things like this that make me believe that the anti-gun Left isn't really serious about preventing violence. If they really wanted to prevent violence, they wouldn't put dangerous people back on the street. They wouldn't create systems that prevent cops and schools from putting people like the Florida school murderer behind bars. If they really wanted to prevent violence, they wouldn't try to pass laws that were so obviously ineffective. The only conclusion I can come to is that they don't want to stop violence. They just want another easy way to take guns away from people.Sean D Sorrentinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02710448105506060349noreply@blogger.com
